North Shore sunsets are the best, and there is no better place to watch them than from the deck of the Ho’o Nanea. The Holokai departs from the beach for all of our sails, so be sure to bring footwear that you can easily slip on and off! The walk down to the beach may take from 5 to 10 minutes, a maximum of 0.3 miles down to the boat. Oahu provides some of the best sunsets all over the island! However, the best sunsets in Oahu are usually on the North and East side of the island. With this cruise, you will see a different side of the island most tours will not show you.

As the sun sets, you'll see the skyline change colors behind downtown Honolulu. Our glass bottom boat will give you an up-close look at the colorful marine life that surrounds the island. So come aboard and relax with your crew as we take you on a tour of Waikiki like you've never seen it before. The best time for a sunset cruise in Waikiki is during whale season, which runs from December through April. During this time, humpback whales migrate to Hawaiian waters and can often be seen breaching and playing near boats.
I shouldn't have to strain to hear the person I'm eating with who it just across the table, the couple next to us made the same comment about the volume. The singer on the other hand was wonderful and had a beautiful voice. All in all an okay experience but the photo ads and descriptions are playing it up a bit. If there's one tour you can't skip, it's a sunset cruise Waikiki!
This was a fun island activity and a romantic dinner for two. The best part of the cruise was the opportunity to see the waikiki beach from the water. All of the food was picture perfect and tasty but smaller portions than I expected and it was certainly the smallest maine lobster I have ever seen. The upstairs on the ship was set up like a very nice restaurant, white tablecloths and the wait staff were in black suits - very fancy. The wait staff was polite and as professional as could be but as far as I could tell there was only one waiter for the entire top section this made getting drinks a bit slow. The jazz music was mostly just piano and was too loud for the room the piano had a microphone set up and it seems like it could have been turned down a notch.
We sail out from Waikiki, providing stunning views of the world-famous beach and natural landmarks, like Diamond Head. On our return, we park on the water, so bring a swimsuit if you want to splash about in Hawaii’s marine life playground. Our most popular trip for the fun-loving crowd, the sunset sail often turns strangers into fast friends in an hour and a half. Sit back, relax and bask in Oahu’s magnificent sunset together.
We were treated to a sorbet course in the middle of our dining experience which was tasty. During the trip you are able to take many great pictures and they even have a photographer on standby. The sunset was amazing as well as the views from the Waikiki area. The journey home was more intimate and with the lowered light and live jazz music. The journey was full of memories and was the perfect end to an amazing time in Hawaii.
Most of the sunset cruises in Oahu offer dinner and drinks too! It is a romantic way to enjoy the incredible Hawaii sunsets.
